Many Model RC airplanes come as almost ready-to-fly kits. The difference from the ready-to-fly kit is quite obvious: It takes a bit more work from you, but not very much. You'd typically spend somewhere between 10 to 30 hours building it.
Tools required for building the plane are nothing more than basic household items plus some glue.
The actual building of model RC airplanes is half the fun for most RC plane enthusiasts and you shouldn't rob yourself of this pleasure. That said, some prefer to focus on the actual flying and lean more toward the ready-to-fly solution.
